Nomain wins the AI category at the Nordic Fintech Awards 2026
Nomain received the Best of AI Fintech award at the 7th Nordic Fintech Awards, presented by Nordea at Nordic Fintech Week in Copenhagen.
Nomain has won the AI category at the Nordic Fintech Awards 2026, receiving the Best of AI Fintech award. The winners of the 7th edition were announced at the gala award show of Nordic Fintech Week in Copenhagen, with the awards presented by Nordea.
The AI category recognises Nordic fintech companies that are transforming financial ecosystems with AI solutions clearly embedded in their core products. In announcing the winners, the organisers described Nomain as turning decades of mainframe code into clear knowledge for banks and insurers.

A Nordic-wide selection process
Nominations for the awards were sourced across the Nordic fintech ecosystem in partnership with Helsinki Fintech Farm, NCE Finance Innovation, Reykjavik Fintech and the Swedish Fintech Association, SweFinTech. Copenhagen Fintech curated the shortlist with the Nordic fintech hubs, and an expert jury with members from organisations including Mastercard, Enfuce, Revolut, Citi Ventures and Swedbank selected two finalists per category. Nomain and Plinto competed as the two AI finalists, pitching live on 23 September before the winners were named the following evening.
Why it matters
Banks and insurers still run critical operations on mainframe estates that have grown over decades, while much of the knowledge of how those systems work has left with the people who built them. Nomain parses COBOL, PL/I and JCL deterministically into a knowledge graph and uses AI on top of it, so teams can understand, analyse and change their systems with answers they can verify.
